Glass balustrade panels form the glazed infill or barrier in a stair, balcony or landing system. The glass build-up must be coordinated with the support system and the project designer; panel supply alone does not establish the performance of the installed barrier.

Specify Stairs and Landings Separately

A stair panel may need a sloping top edge, unequal side heights and fixing holes referenced to the stair pitch. Landing panels usually use a different drawing. Identify each panel with its installation position, finished width and height, pitch angle and handedness so mirrored pieces are not confused.

Coordinate Glass and the Complete Barrier

For elevated areas, the designer must select the glass build-up, interlayer and support arrangement for the required loads and residual performance. Discuss edge exposure, handrail details and interlayer compatibility. Do not assume a pool fence panel specification is suitable for a balcony balustrade.

Fabrication and Quality Review

Cutting, polishing, drilling and notching are specified before tempering. For laminated panels, check glass alignment, edge appearance and the agreed interlayer arrangement. Inspection requirements can include dimensions, hole positions, bow, visual quality and applicable test documentation.

Production Planning

The factory has two tempering and two lamination lines. General tempering planning throughput is about 20 tonnes per line per day, with approximately 27 tonnes possible under suitable loading. Balustrade output depends on glass build-up, shape cutting and hole patterns; confirm the order schedule rather than converting line tonnage into an assumed panel count.

Export Packing and Identification

Protect polished edges and separate panels with suitable pads. Mark stair-panel handedness and installation numbers on the packing list. Agree lifting access and crate arrangements for large laminated panels before dispatch.
