Dimming glass

Dimming glass

Smart glass – a laminated glass product consisting of two layers of glass with a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film between the two conductive layers. The PDLC film can change the appearance of the glass from opaque (translucent) to clear (transparent).

When the film is electrified, the liquid crystals align, turning the glass from opaque to transparent. Conversely, when the power is removed, the liquid crystals return to their normal dispersed positions, returning the glass to its opaque state.
